SKYVIEW HEIGHTSAIRWAY HEIGHTS, WASHINGTON
Square Footage: 185,000 in two phases
Scope: Wood Framing, Structural Steel, and Metal Fabrications / Railings There were a total of sixteen buildings on this one, out of which only six were part of the phase one. We were lucky to have the opportunity to work with a GC here who really had the mindset of helping his subcontractors do well. It's not every day the GC Superintendent jumps on a forklift and offloads a truck for their framer! The appreciation must have been mutual, as they awarded the phase 2, another 10 buildings, without going back out to bid. |
ALENA APARTMENTSVANCOUVER, WASHINGTON
Square Footage: 160,000 Scope: Wood Framing Six separate buildings here, all with separate permits. Clark County interprets the fire code slightly different than most of the rest of the Pacific Northwest and holds all of the contractors to a high bar. They taught us a lot of the nuances of the code that we're now able to incorporate on the front end on future projects, including how the International Building Code, the Gypsum Assocations Fire Resistance and Sound Control Design Manual, and the United Laboratories / Independent Testing agencies all interact to specify how exactly a building should be constructed. This added understanding has been very helpful on projects since this one. Thanks Clark County! |
